My children LOVE going to piano each week. Shelley really makes her students feel welcome and is always so genuinely happy to see them! She is extremely talented and is a wonderful instructor. I highly recommend her!

Our son has had Shelley for a teacher for both KiddyKeys and now piano. Her teaching style and patience have made his musical learning experience a great one. The foundation of trust she builds with her students allows her to direct and teach so effectively.

We have sent one or two of our children to take piano lessons from Shelley for the past 5 years. It has been so good for our kids! She treats them with respect, helps them when they're struggling and challenges them to do their best. From the creative ways she teaches to the end-of-the-year recital, it is obvious that she cares for her students. We're thankful for her dedication and resolve to make it possible that our kids can continue to learn this valuable skill. 

I am so glad we chose Ms. McKone for our boys to learn piano and I will ups highly recommend her to anyone I can. Her extensive knowledge alongside her unique and fun way of teaching is bringing out the inner musicians in our boys.

My 6 year old daughter Chanel has been attending McKone’s Music for almost a year. Chanel is always very excited for her lessons with Shelley. Shelley has been very kind and understanding with my daughter and has helped her fulfill her passion of music. Shelley is very flexible with our schedule and has always done her best to accommodate our busy schedules . 10/10 highly recommended Ms. Mckone for your child! She is absolutely wonderful.

This is my children’s first year at McKone’s Music and I am very impressed with their progress. They are excited to attend each class, and eager to show me what they have learned. Best part, there is no coercing them to practice! They happily and willingly practice on their own, excited to be able to move on at their next lesson.

I really appreciate my experiences with Music For Young Children’s teacher, Shelley McKone.  The things that stand out for me are:
- her ability to challenge each student in her classes whether it is a beginner class or an Master’s class;
- her ability to pick out something special about each student and build upon that throughout the year;
- she makes her classes fun for the students and gears her lessons to the children’s abilities;

Our daughter started piano lessons, six years ago, with Shelley.  We love to listen to her play now.  The way she has been taught is completely different then how I was taught, and I can not say enough about this teaching method.  Shelley and her teaching strategies are incredible and Shelley has always been open to our feedback. 

My son loves going to McKone's Music. Her teaching method makes learning to read notes easy and keeps at home practice time to a minimum.

My daughter has been with McKone’s Music since 2018. She started at age 9. Shelley has been a wonderful mentor for my daughter, and her deep love for music is evident in the joy she brings to each practice. Shelley has been able to motivate my daughter , and the progress through the years has been amazing. My daughter has found a love for piano and a desire to keep learning. They have developed a connection which is due to Shelley’s positive approach. “Best day ever”.

Shelley taught my daughter for her first two years of music, and it was because of Shelley’s encouragement that we even started in the program. Many years later, my daughter is still taking piano lessons and loving it. Shelley is very engaging and professional as a teacher. She knows her stuff after 30 years of teaching and she adds a loving warmth that always encourages her students to do their best.

We are in our second year with McKone’s music and we are SO impressed with both Ms. Mckone as well as the MYC program. Ms. McKone is extremely patient, kind, and passionate about music and teaching children. We are blown away with how much our kids have learnt in just two years of the program. They are reading music, playing full songs, composing… it truly is an amazing program and we love Ms. Mckone. We will be with her for many more years to come!

This is my daughter's second year of learning piano with Shelley, and prior to this both of my kids did KiddyKids. My daughter loves the classes and it is truly incredible how much she has learnt in such a short time! I also really appreciate her commitment to the kids' learning, allowing for flexibility, personalized touches, and ongoing communication with the parents!

Our daughter is in her second year of lessons with Ms.McKone. She has learned so much in a short period of time it’s really amazing to see. Ms.McKone is very encouraging, kind, supportive, helpful and patient. We look forward to many more lessons and watching our daughter grow further with what she learns.

My daughter was unsure about starting piano lessons, but after the first one she was hooked!  She is advancing wonderfully, takes pride in her accomplishments, and when her 16-year-old brother asked to be signed up also, I knew it was awesome!

Shelley has a passion for the music she teaches and that passion and enthusiasm translates to her students.  The lessons are engaging, adapted to individual needs, ages and levels.  Our daughter has attended for over 3 years and loves it.

Shelley and the KiddyKeys program has been an exciting element to our playschool experience. The children have learnt many different songs, tried different musical instruments, and have gained knowledge of musical history. This has been a rewarding program for us to have been able to give to our students, and one that we will be looking to continue on with.
